HISTORY
"The River Wyre Golf Tour" was originally formed as "THATCHED HOUSE GOLF TOUR"
"The Tour" has been operating for over "Ten Years" and is an annual event for a close group of friends to get together for a pre-summer break created by a group of participents in the Mick Miller Classic Charity Event held at a local Fylde Course that was held every year - Sadly Mick's busy life has made the planning of the event very difficult - But we hope one day it will return.
Our Chairman Roy Page has been instrumental in ensuring the tour continues in the spirit intentended as a enjoyable long weekend for the boy's, Playing Golf to holiday golf rules.
Each year the tour gets better and whilst the members attending may change year by year the event gets more organised and is now an event not to be missed.
Following the lack of support from the Thatched House. we felt that we should change our name due to our host Paul Thornhill (River Wyre Hotel)
Who has looked after the members of the tour so well over the past few years.
The whole idea of the Tour is to have a enjoyable long weekend with close friends.
Each year the committee is voted in by the members and this results in a healthy rivalry to better the previous appointment.
Meetings are arranged during the year to keep all members up to speed with the progress of the next tour
Monday Club meet for early evening lubrication at the River Wyre 6.00pm each Monday.
